Knight and Cashmere were applauded by fellow graduates as they walked the convocation stage together. However, according to CTV Calgary, this would be the second time that a guide dog has received an honorary degree from the university.

Cashmere still did his job by not getting distracted by the commotion. According to Tara, the Labrador cross is perfect!

“The guide schools do a great job of matching people with dogs who are like them,” Knight told the university. “He’s funny and quirky and serious when he is working, but he can be a real puppy as well and he likes to play.”

Knight has secured a position at a Calgary law firm where Cashmere will also be working.
